Arthur P. Caltrider, Jr.
Mr. Caltrider joined the firm in 2009 after 9 years at Travelers Insurance Company where he held the position of Vice President Associate Group General Counsel managing significant litigation across all 50 states involving 16 separate product lines. Prior to joining Travelers he spent 15 years at Allewalt & Murphy where he was a partner litigating cases in the areas of construction, transportation, lead paint, products liability, 1983 Actions and defamation. Mr. Caltrider’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation in the areas of business litigation, toxic torts, construction, coverage and other tort matters.
He is a member of the American Bar Association (Tort & Insurance Practice Section), Maryland Bar Association, Baltimore County Bar Association, Baltimore City Bar Association, Maryland Association of Defense Trial Counsel, Federal Trial Bar Association, the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Caltrider is a graduate of Washington & Lee University (B.A. 1980) and the University of Baltimore School of Law (J.D. 1983). He was appointed in 2008 by Chief Judge Robert Bell to serve on the Accommodations Review Committee (ARC). The ARC hears appeals of bar applicants denied accommodations under the ADA. He holds an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell and recently was nominated and selected as a member of the Council on Litigation Management.
Mr. Caltrider also heads the Baltimore Chapter of the Washington & Lee (W&L) University Elrod Fellowship; an alumni based group that connects recent W&L graduates that seek employment with area non-profits that focus on fighting poverty in our community.
