Bodie Law attorneys, Thomas J. Dolina and Sarah D. Mann teamed with local counsel in New Jersey to represent Firm client, Beynon Sports Surfaces, Inc., in a dispute with a former employee. The dispute was ultimately resolved in arbitration; however, the attorneys successfully challenged the arbitrator’s award of attorney’s fees to the former employee. The New Jersey Court’s decision impacted Labor Law in New Jersey, particularly in the area of arbitration agreements between employers and employees. Art Caltrider, obtained a defense verdict in a Baltimore County jury trial, in which the Plaintiff sued our client $950,000.00. Mr. Caltrider stated that the key to the case was undermining the assumptions of the Plaintiff’s expert, who testified that our client breached the standard of care.
Thomas J. Dolina and Sarah D. Mann, joined the Baltimore County Bar Association and Habitat for Humanity to assist in building homes in East Baltimore City. Mr. Dolina and Ms. Mann described the work as “intense, but extremely rewarding.”

Bodie Law Attorneys, Sarah D. Mann and Kathryn F. Weinrich, wrote an article for The Maryland Litigator, a publication of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Litigation Section. Ms. Mann and Ms. Weinrich analyzed the Court of Appeals’ Opinion regarding the activities of medical experts. Ms. Mann and Ms. Weinrich remain active on the Editorial Board of The Maryland Litigator.
Winn C. Friddell was honored to give a presentation on “The Analysis of Demonstrative Evidence at Trial” at the Judicial Institute of Maryland. Mr. Friddell has an extensive background in litigation, having tried more than 4,000 cases during his career.
